Films I'm looking forward to seeing this summer

As an English person who is of the age to get an eleven week summer holiday (I'm in Year 11- GCSE exam leave), I am going to have a lot of time to watch and look forward to the many films that are due for release in the coming months. Here's the top five films I can't wait to watch this summer:

1. X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST
"The X-Men send Wolverine to the past in a desperate effort to change history and prevent an event that results in doom for both humans and mutants" (imdb)
Release date: 23rd May 2014 (UK)
Director: Bryan Singer
Leading Cast: Patrick Stewart, Halle Berry, Hugh Jackman
My prediction out of ten: 9

2. MALEFICENT
"The untold story of the villain from "Sleeping Beauty" reveals the events that hardened Maleficent's heart and drove her to curse the baby, Aurora, only to later realize that the child may hold the key to peace in the land." (imdb)
Release date: 28th May 2014 (UK)
Director: Robert Stromberg
Leading Cast: Angelina Jolie, Elle Fanning, Sharlto Copley
My prediction out of ten: 8

3. 22 JUMP STREET
"After making their way through high school (twice), big changes are in store for officers Schmidt and Jenko when they go deep undercover at a local college." (imdb)
Release date: 6th June 2014 (UK)
Directors: Phil Lord, Christopher Miller
Leading Cast: Channing Tatum, Jonah Hill
My prediction out of ten: 5

4. STEP UP: ALL IN
"All-stars from the previous Step Up instalments come together in glittering Las Vegas, battling for a victory that could define their dreams and their careers." (imdb)
Release date: 1st August 2014 (UK)
Director: Trish Sie
Leading Cast: Briana Evigan, Alyson Stoner, Ryan Guzman
My prediction out of ten: 8

5. THE FAULT IN OUR STARS
"Hazel and Gus are two teenagers who share an acerbic wit, a disdain for the conventional, and a love that sweeps them on a journey. Their relationship is all the more miraculous given that Hazel's other constant companion is an oxygen tank, Gus jokes about his prosthetic leg, and they met and fell in love at a cancer support group." (imdb)
Release date: 20th June 2014
Director: Josh Boone
Leading Cast: Shailene Woodley, Ansel Elgort, Nat Wolff
My prediction out of ten: 4

That concludes the top 5 films I'm looking forward to! Let me know in the comments your thoughts/opinions on this summer's films ^_^

  1. The Fault in our Stars is pretty much the only thing I'm looking forward to this summer. I'm sure there are others. :)
