As per my usual, come the beginning of every month I go to my local book store to browse the shelves for interesting books to add to my never ending To Be Read pile. This time was no exception and I'm really excited about some of them. And others have been on my shelf for a while.

book, which is making waves in the YouTube book community. I will admit that I was hesitant to pick it up just because it was about aliens and that was never my thing. But the main girl is apparently a real bad ass, so I will give this a go.

Shatter Me by Tahereh Mafi ~ Now this one I am very aware of how popular it is and when I found out what it was about, of course I had to get it. But I started reading it and hit around page 128 when I just shut the book. I couldn't get into the writing style, which stinks because a lot of people seem to enjoy it.

The Thief Lord by Cornelia Funke~ I picked this one up because of how pretty the cover was but I will still read it. Plus it is about Venice Italy and I feel an attachment to that just because I am half Italian.

The Kingdom of Little Wounds by Susann Cokal~
This one is an ARC (Advanced Reading Copy), so I cant say much about it until its released in October. But it sounds so interesting and reminds me of Game of Thrones and Vanity Fair thrown together.
Paradise Lost by John Milton~ I have wanted to read this since I first heard it quoted in The Mortal Instruments by Cassandra Clare. And honestly, I love any book that deals with Angels and Demons that isn't like every other religious book out there

The Passage by Justin Cronin~ This behemoth really intrigue me simply because it was such a different and scary take on vampires. Genetically mutated/enhanced vampires known as Virals ! This aint no Twilight !

One Day by David Nicholls~ I got this mainly because I loved the movie so much and I knew I would love the book because that's usually the case with me.
.... That's it for this month's book haul but I am sure I will be picking up more. Let me know if any of you have read these books and what your thoughts are.
