"Sauron, the Dark Lord, has gathered to him all the Rings of Power – the means by which he intends to rule Middle-earth. All he lacks in his plans for dominion is the One Ring – the ring that rules them all – which has fallen into the hands of the hobbit, Bilbo Baggins.
In a sleepy village in the Shire, young Frodo Baggins finds himself faced with an immense task, as his elderly cousin Bilbo entrusts the Ring to his care. Frodo must leave his home and make a perilous journey across Middle-earth to the Cracks of Doom, there to destroy the Ring and foil the Dark Lord in his evil purpose."
**So firstly I have to apologise for my disappearance for a few months... it was because I was reading this monster...**
WEEEEEEEEEEELLLLLLLLLLLLLLL, where shall I begin?
First things first, this book is a right bugger to read. You have to someone who doesn't get bored easily, and
can take in all the information that's thrown at you. I'm talking stories, songs, ENTIIIIIIIIREEEEEEEEEE FAMILY HISTORY like seriously, I didn't so much could be said about someone's family tree. It's kinda debatable to the start being a quite slow, but I read it in 3 separate books so it wasn't as bad as my friend who had the whole book in one. It 1000+ page glory.

But if you've always wanted to read this book I think the best thing to do would be to read The Hobbit first. It's a good way to ease into the wonders of Middle-Earth. You can find Mari's review of The Hobbit here.
So anyway, this book is pretty epic thing and I felt it was one of the 'things to do before you die' objectives. I mean come on it's the second best-selling novel ever written! And it sure doesn't live down to its renowned epicness. As long as you're a magic, myths, war, and all cray cray stuff like that lover..then this is your kinda book.
YES!! Totally agree with this whole post!! Its almost harder to read than to go to Mordor itself:P But once its over, you feel totally epic!! :P xx
